Adam and Drew open up the show discussing the idea that Adam’s staff is scared of him, specifically citing the great St. Archer Beer Inquisition of 2014. Adam then brings up an article about Donald Sterling’s donation to UCLA being rejected and he and Drew examine where the line should be drawn. I really enjoy listening to the show. As an (aspiring) fellow “man of science,” I find your contributions to some of the things Adam discusses valuable even if he has a tendency to steamroll sometimes.
I hate to be pedantic, but I hope you’ll take it in the spirit intended. Adam made reference to doing decreasing sets of push-ups (a set of 10, then 9, 8, etc.) and at the end of the show, you mentioned you had been trying to recall the word “factorial” instead of “exponential” in reference to the quantity of Adam’s push-ups and stated that he did “ten factorial” push-ups. This is incorrect.
It is neither exponential nor factorial. Ten factorial (written 10!) is a huge number (10! = 3,628,800) because 10! = 10 * 9 * 8 * 7 * 6 * 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1, by definition. With factorial, you’re not adding the numbers, you are multiplying them. The formula for determining the sum of the first n positive integers is 1 + 2 + 3 + … + n = n * (n + 1) / 2. I’m not sure if there is a special name for this sequence.

Adam has really hit the skids. Drew should give him some lithium and remind him he is a comedian… he seems to think he’s a “celebrity.” This was so hard to listen to.
